When spec.graphicalConsoles is set to Enabled, users get browser-based noVNC access to bare metal node consoles. The spec fields were already introduced by the "CRD changes for graphical console" commit; this adds the implementation. When enabled, the conductor deployment is modified as follows: - a novnc sidecar running ironic-novncproxy is added to the conductor StatefulSet, exposed via a novnc port (6090) on the conductor Service and an edge-terminated Route; init.sh renders [vnc] public_url from the per-pod route hostname - enabled_console_interfaces gains redfish-graphical and fake-graphical, and the [vnc] section sets container_provider=kubernetes so the conductor creates a Pod and Secret per console (an x11vnc server rendered from ironic-console-pod.yaml.template, with pod affinity to the owning conductor) - a console-image-pull init container pre-pulls the console image onto nodes running a conductor so console pods start without delay Console pods are created by the conductor in a dedicated console namespace (e.g. openstack-ironic-consoles, derived from the service namespace). To allow this cross-namespace: - the operator creates a Role and RoleBinding in the console namespace granting the conductor ServiceAccount pod and secret permissions; these carry no owner references since cross-namespace ownership is not allowed - the common RBAC rules for all ironic service accounts gain pod permissions, and conductor pods now automount their ServiceAccount token as required by the kubernetes container_provider. These changes apply to all conductors, not only those with graphical consoles enabled - console namespace creation is implemented but disabled until the operator is granted namespace permissions, so the console namespace must be created by an admin beforehand Functional tests cover the enabled and disabled paths for the novnc sidecar and the console-image-pull init container. Remove pod CRUD from getCommonRbacRules.
getCommonRbacRules is used by every component's service-namespace Role, including Ironic, API, inspector, and INA. Pod create and delete are needed only in the console namespace, and getGraphicalConsoleRbacRules already grants them there. This change broadens privileges for all components. Revert the pod rule and update the test that expects three rules.

Update the operator RBAC before reconciling delegated pod Roles.
The controllers call common_rbac.ReconcileRbac with rules that grant full pod management. The operator’s manager-role grants only pods get, list. It has neither roles/escalate nor rolebindings bind.
Kubernetes can therefore reject the delegated Role or RoleBinding with Forbidden, blocking RBAC reconciliation. Add the full pod verbs to all five controller marker sets and regenerate config/rbac/role.yaml. The existing secret and SCC permissions already cover the remaining rules, so escalate and bind are not required after the operator holds the delegated permissions.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win
Use a console namespace name that cannot collide.
The prefix truncation maps openstack-a and openstack-b to the same openstack-ironic-consoles namespace. The Role and RoleBinding names depend only on the service account name, so the two deployments can overwrite each other's Role and RoleBinding. The RoleBinding subject namespace is overwritten, which revokes console access for the other deployment. Use the full namespace as the prefix.

These resources have no owner references, and nothing removes them. Cleanup is missing when consoles are disabled and when the CR is deleted. Enable token automount only when graphical consoles are enabled.
Line 311 now mounts the service account token on every conductor pod. The common Role also grants full pod CRUD in the service namespace. A compromised conductor container can then manage arbitrary pods in the openstack namespace, even when graphical consoles are disabled. Make automount conditional on GraphicalConsoles == "Enabled". Keep the pod permissions scoped to the console namespace Role.

Use https for the noVNC public URL.
RouteNoVNC configures edge TLS with InsecureEdgeTerminationPolicyRedirect. The generated public_url uses http. Each console link therefore receives a redirect. The page then loads over https, and the noVNC websocket must also use TLS. Set novncProtocol to https so the URL matches the Route.

When spec.graphicalConsoles is set to Enabled, users get browser-based
noVNC access to bare metal node consoles. The spec fields were already
introduced by the "CRD changes for graphical console" commit; this adds
the implementation.
When enabled, the conductor deployment is modified as follows:
StatefulSet, exposed via a novnc port (6090) on the conductor Service
and an edge-terminated Route; init.sh renders [vnc] public_url from
the per-pod route hostname
and the [vnc] section sets container_provider=kubernetes so the
conductor creates a Pod and Secret per console (an x11vnc server
rendered from ironic-console-pod.yaml.template, with pod affinity to
the owning conductor)
nodes running a conductor so console pods start without delay
Console pods are created by the conductor in a dedicated console
namespace (e.g. openstack-ironic-consoles, derived from the service
namespace). To allow this cross-namespace:
granting the conductor ServiceAccount pod and secret permissions;
these carry no owner references since cross-namespace ownership is
not allowed
permissions, and conductor pods now automount their ServiceAccount
token as required by the kubernetes container_provider. These changes
apply to all conductors, not only those with graphical consoles
enabled
operator is granted namespace permissions, so the console namespace
must be created by an admin beforehand
Functional tests cover the enabled and disabled paths for the novnc
sidecar and the console-image-pull init container.
